I´m moved beyond words to read all the greetings on your 80th birthday from people all over the world. It´s a rare experience to be able to be in agreement with all the many beautiful words expressed on this site on your behalf. The words we use create mental pictures of what we say. I think I can safely say that we all share the same love, respect and admiration for you as a person and are united in a profound gratitude for your contributions to a better understanding of the world and American foreign policy. For many years you have been my most important inspiration and hopefully you´ll continue for many years to come. Your personal integrity and moral standing is out of this world and I don´t think anybody will take offence when I say, that even with a lot of brilliant people around, intellectually nobody compares to you. If I know anything at all on these matters, it´s because I´ve been standing on the shoulders of a giant like you.
